My Views on Child Support

I married whom I thought a compassionate man (or I wouldn't have married him) when I was 19. I never got anything for child support. I felt, at our divorce, he should not have to be asked to care for his three children, so I never took him to court for child support.

I believe, if you love your children enough, you shouldn't have to be asked (or begged, or hunted down) to pay what it takes to raise your babies.  You should want to help. Children are expensive.

So when I hear men say they quitting their job so not to give her a dime, or they mad at her for getting some of their check, what I really hear is you don't want your children to live like you living.  You saying, in other words, you really don't give a shit about the babies you helped create.

When there are times I see my exhusband, it's not a hate I have for him.  He is the father of my children, a good looking man.  It's a sadness. A sadness that I felt when raising them because, even working two jobs, I would have loved to have his help to reduce that load I was carrying, alone. Our beautiful children were every bit worth his help.
