How Do We Grow Love?

I have learned a lot about my 40's. I learned I don't need to shake anything to be heard. I just need to know and become expert of what I am talking about. I don't need to paint my face to be noticed because as long as I eat right and take care of my skin, no one knows the difference. Or even cares. I don't have to yell to be heard because I respect others, including my dignity, to yell and scream at anyone. I learned that noone can really take away from me what is meant for me to have. I don't try to hold on to anything that really isn't mine.  And we all know when something doesn't really belong to us. I learned that I much prefer peace and will gladly give it.  I also learned that you cannot and should not judge a book by its cover. It's unfair to form an opinion prematurely.

What have you learned as you aged?
