I personally don’t think, when a couple has small children, that both need to work. When you think on it, unless the mother plans on doubling the household income, on top of what they will spend on daycare, babysitters, more wear and tear on car, more $ for food (because really, who is going to want to cook after all that??), a clothing and shoe allowance, will it really be worth it?? Write it down, what you will give up, what your children will give up and what you will gain. Do you mind someone else raising your babies, your toddlers, your elementary school age children? Does your mate mind someone else raising your babies? Does he mind dinner not already ready when he gets home? His clothes not washed? The house messy?
My children were raised by a baby sitter, the day cares, the after school programs. I felt guilty the whole time my children were in school.
But I had to work. If I didn’t have to, I wouldn’t have! And I was barely making it as it was with no child support from my ex-husband (Is it too late to get some?)
