Respect starts at home. If you are teaching your children to be your "friend" and not respect your authority as a parent, you will never gain respect nor will they respect themselves enough to demand it from their children. This is why we are in the jacked up world we are in now. The way some children talk to their parents is appalling. That would include adult children to their adult children. Pushing out a baby already hurts, then to struggle to raise them. But to have a disrespectful child on top of that? I see it in groceries, on the bus, on Facebook. It hurts me to see it and they aren't my child. Mine children don't talk to me crazy and I have never heard my grandchildren talk to their parents crazy.
